Pimlico Presents The Greatest Show

Pimlico State High School’s annual variety concert promises to be nothing short of spectacular this year as over 300 students take to the stage in a celebration of all things dance, drama and music – with just a little bit of circus for good measure!

The show’s opening number will feature a medley of songs from The Greatest Showman including Rewrite the Stars, This is Me and A Million Dreams - and some wonderful circus tricks.  This is followed by two hours of entertainment with everything from contemporary dance to symphony orchestra, dramatic monologues, comedy, singing and much more.

Show Director, Claire Davies said tickets to this year’s show are selling faster than any show in the last ten years.

“It’s very exciting to see an event like this so supported by the school community,” said Ms Davies.

“A show like Pimlico Presents is part of the fabric of the school community; over 40 teachers are helping out behind the scenes, everything from sewing costumes, through to constructing sets – it’s really a whole school production.”

Ms Davies said Pimlico Presents is about more than just the student performances.

“The most wonderful thing about Pimlico Presents is supporting students as they create and develop their own items.  The talent in our students doesn’t just lie in their performances; it also lies in their ideas and their vision of how they want the items to look on stage.”

Pimlico Presents will be performed at the Townsville Civic Theatre on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 August.

Tickets can be purchased online or through the box office at the Civic Theatre or Riverway.
