Student Testimonials
“When I left my country I was a different person, extremely insecure about myself and I simply wanted to escape my reality. I felt like I could not express myself and my opinions without being judged, and those voices were silently killing me, but they disappeared almost instantly when I came here. I found myself surrounded by incredible people, starting from my wonderful host mum: she always made me feel at home and we built countless memories together.
Every moment with her was special, even just the driving at 8am to go to that school I have attended for the last 5 months. And what a school! As soon as my teachers met me they made themselves available to help me, in case of problems both with homework, but also with the language. I found the same kindness in my coordinators’ office: they have answered all my questions with so much patience and organised trips so that I could discover the beauties of this country.
Last but not least, a part of my heart goes to my friends; I will be eternally grateful for that morning I met them. I think that I will never be tired of talking about the good influence they had on me. They welcomed me as one of them, they helped me with my English, and they wanted to know me despite my shyness.
It always makes me smile when they say "But why Townsville? Why did you choose this city? You could have had Sydney!" And I stand there, just looking at them and smiling, because they are not aware that I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else other than here, where I feel safe and loved everyday.”

Subject Selection
Students should be advised that subject choices may not always be able to be accommodated due to numbers of students already in classes.
This particularly applies to students beginning in July (Semester 2).
